In a very rare appearance, Sherlock's brother, Mycroft, begs help with a dire case that threatens the very security of England. It is the mysterious death - an apparent suicide - of government employee Cadogan West. His body found in the dark tunnels of the Underground and alarmingly in possession of stolen top secret documents, of which three essential pages are missing!
This production stars the quintessential acting team of Basil Rathbone with Nigel Bruce and is based on the short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle first published in 1908; later appearing in Doyle's 1917 book "His Last Bow." Program originally broadcast November 6th, 1939.
